We provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere as we want you to leave your dental anxiety at the door when you visit us. We appreciate that any medical treatment can be stressful and uncomfortable at times. Relax we’ve got you covered!

Our practice makes use of the latest technology in specialised periodontal care. Thus, you can rest assured that you will always receive the best possible dental treatment.

Our family is primarily based in Port Elizabeth, with our practice situated opposite the Greenacres Hospital in Cape Road near all major amenities. We have also established a practice in George in the Western Cape, which we service on a bi-weekly basis.

If you plan on visiting our family from out of town, we invite you to make a holiday out of it and enjoy our adventure province and Garden Route area. There is much to do and see for the entire family and be sure to ask us for recommendations.

Dr Suzette Stander completed her Dental Undergraduate (BChD) training in 2006 receiving a combined degree from the University of Stellenbosch and the University of the Western Cape. In 2009, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology (Cum Laude) at the University of the Western Cape and was accepted into the MChD course in Oral Medicine and Periodontology at the same institution. After completing the four-year specialization in October 2013, she moved to Port Elizabeth to start her own private practice.

Continuous education is paramount to her to stay up to date with the most current techniques and literature in her field. She has presented several lectures and seminars to undergraduate oral hygienists and dentists ranging from 2009 till 2013. Additional involvement at the University of the Western Cape included training and lecturing postgraduate diploma students in Implantology during 2012 and 2013. She was an active member of various study clubs including the Cape Society of Dental Implantology (CSDI) (2010 – 2013), the Cape Prosthetic and Periodontal Study Club (2011 – 2013), and finally the Oral Pathology Study Club (2013). She is a current member of the Port Elizabeth Dental Specialist Journal Club as well as the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the South African Dental Association (SADA), with 11 published articles in the SADJ between the period of 2009 up and until 2013, focusing on Oral Medicine. She has done several lectures for the Western Cape as well as the Eastern Cape Branch of SADA ranging from 2014 till 2016. She was asked to lecture for the annual meeting of the Eastern Cape Branch of the Oral Hygiene Association of South Africa (OHASA) in 2014 and 2015. In February 2015, she completed an advanced laser course in dentistry presented by the Department of Science and Technology of the University of Genoa, Italy. The latter was the first ever international accredited advanced laser course presented in South Africa.

Dr Stander has a passion and love for Implantology and Peri-implant Diseases. She has done her thesis for her specialisation training on the prevalence of Peri-implant Diseases. Subsequently she has attended several International Advanced and Master Courses to equip and remain up to the international standard on the latest techniques and research in the ever-evolving field of Implantology. To list but a few, in June 2015, she was invited to do a poster presentation on her research in peri-implant disease at the EuroPerio8 Congress held at Excel in London. In July 2015, she also completed an advanced implant course at the Brӓnemark Osseo-integration Centre Marseille, France. During March 2017, she attended a Master Course by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) in Peri-implantitis held in Valetta, Malta. In May 2017, she attended the ITI (International Team of Implantology) annual meeting held in Basel Switzerland, where focus was put on the latest research in Implants and Regenerative Techniques, as well as completed a Master Course in Managing and Preventing Implant Complications in the Aesthetic Zone, at the University of Bern, Switzerland, organised by Professors Buzer and Belser, considered by their peers to be two giants in the field of Implantology.
In August 2016, she served on the EXCO as Vice President of the South African Society of Periodontology, Implantology and Oral Medicine (SASPIO). In October 2018, Dr Stander was elected President of SASPIO for a two-year term period.

Her private practice focuses on Periodontology, Implantology and Regenerative Techniques. Although her main practice is in Port Elizabeth she also services two satellite practice’s in George and East London.
